
Pastor McCormick is a native of Lubbock Texas. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelors Degree with a concentration in Government from the School of Liberal Arts in 1992. In 1995, he was called by God into the preaching ministry and in 1996 received his preaching license.
Pastor McCormick was ordained in 1998 and in December of 2000 he obtained a Master of Divinity Degree from the School of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Prior to his pastorate, Rev. McCormick served as Youth Minister of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, where A.W.A. Mays is Pastor and in the same capacity at University Park Baptist Church, where Bishop Claude R. Alexander Jr. is pastor.
While serving as Minister of Youth at University Park, Rev. McCormick was also responsible for leading the Men’s Ministry. On March 9, 2003, Rev. McCormick began his tenure as Pastor of Second Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he serves to this day.
Pastor McCormick is currently pursuing his Doctor of Minister Degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
